Description
this illustration was created for the central pages fold-out of venezuelan folk/jazz flutist Huascar Barradas' latest album "Reinvencion", but it was also used in the back cover and 2 of the booklet pages as well.
you can pretty much guess that "reinvencion" means Reinvention... so where do things get invented? in laboratories, for one... so this is a laboratory-factory where music gets all mixed-up and reinvented.
my inspirations were Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and the cookie factory from Edward Scirrorhands, also real-life sound studios... and steampunk, even before i knew that "steampunk" was the name for the aesthetic i was using here.
